That's Bananas!

There is a cute, new, little market near the bike shop where Husband works. Yesterday he and his boss found a few boxes in the dumpster filled with perfectly good apples, lemons and ripe bananas. So of course being the resourceful beings they are, they split up the goods and brought them home.
If a small market like that is throwing out all this good food it bothers me a bit to think of all the good food that is probably being thrown out on a daily basis at larger grocery stores.
Dumpster Diving anyone?!
Anyways...
I had all these ripe bananas and of course I decided to make bread. Little did I know that I would make THE BEST BANANA BREAD OF MY LIFE!
Seriously.
I have never been that crazy about banana bread until now. Until, America's test kitchen MADE ME CRAZY about banana bread.
I can't stop eating it.
Really, it's a problem.

Now what to do with a shit-ton of lemons....

Fun times were had by all...except when the skunks came out to play

It snowed.
A lot.
I missed summer.
I made bruschetta.

We went for a hike in the night.
The wind was intense.
And so was the smell of skunk.

We bathed puppies.
I watched this.
Then I made it.
Then we ate it.

I practiced yoga.
I made granola.
We are crunchy.

And that was our weekend.

Snowy Sunday

an hour of yoga practiced.
a mountain of waffles consumed.
a snuggle fest with pups.
a walk in the snow.
a craft project started.
a potato soup recipe anticipated.
a snowy sunday thoroughly enjoyed.

Pretty

My husband is more of a "stop on the side of road and pick some wildflowers" kind of guy when it comes to getting me flowers. Which is what I prefer. But I must say this bouquet is gorgeous and I would not ever be opposed to receiving something like this!

Goals for 2012

1. Read more books than I did last year.
2. Do 4 self supported half marathons. One in every season.
3. Practice yoga and/or meditation everyday. Even if it is just for a few minutes.
4. Complete my yoga teacher certification.
5. Open up my etsy shop.
6. Refrain from making ANY frivolous purchases. Even if it is on sale.
7. Recognize "the good" in each day.

I think that should cover it....

Woooooosh!

It Flew By...

Goodbye 2011. Our time together felt short but sweet.
